Boler, France, porcelain and gilt brass clock, the base with dark finish, and trimmed with gilt ornament, with figure of a young man, colorfully dressed in the 18th century style, and with a lute slung over his back, standing below gilt trees covered with multi colored flowers of diverse size and shape, and supporting a gilt case containing a French 8 day time only movement, Arabic numeral white enamel dial with floral garlands, and gilt Louis XV style hands, base with tag marked "Made in France Boler 27 Rue S Honore", all under a glass dome on an ebonized wooden base, c1900
CONDITION:
Base with paint over original patinated surface, base trim and feet with losses to gilding, figure with repair to left arm, 4 flowers with restoration, others with minor breaks/ chips, a few flowers may be missing, tree trunks with touchups to gold, and minor dirt and losses, clock case with minor spotting and losses, dial with flaking at edge near 2:00, hands good, movement running, dome and wooden base not original
